How do I cancel my subscription?

All Ice Study subscriptions are billed by Apple through the App Store. You can cancel anytime from your iPhone or iPad:

  • Open Settings
  • Tap your name at the top
  • Tap Subscriptions
  • Tap Ice Study and choose Cancel Subscription

Your access stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled directly by Apple, not by us. Submit a refund request at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple usually responds within 48 hours.

If you bought by accident or hit a bug that ruined your experience, email us at support@icestudyapp.com first — we can advocate for your refund.

I paid but my Pro features aren't unlocked

Try this in order:

  • Open the app, go to the Profile tab, and tap Restore Purchases.
  • Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used to buy.
  • If you bought on another device, sign in with the same Apple ID on the device that's missing access.
  • Force-quit and reopen the app.

What's the difference between weekly, monthly, and yearly?

Same features on every plan — only the billing cycle changes. Yearly is the cheapest per week. Weekly is the easiest to try without commitment. You can switch between them at any time from your Apple Subscriptions settings.

Streaks & focus sessions

Why did my streak break?

Your streak counts consecutive days with at least one completed session. A day passes at midnight in your device's local time zone. If you didn't finish a session before midnight, the streak resets.

Pro users get one "streak freeze" per week — if you miss a day, the freeze kicks in automatically and your streak stays alive.

Does ending a session early count?

Sessions ended early are logged in your history with the actual time you focused, but they don't count toward your streak — only completed sessions keep the chain going. Your focus score reflects the ratio of completed sessions to total sessions started.

Can I change my session length?

Yes. On the Home tab, tap the timer card before you start a session and drag to set anything from 5 minutes to 4 hours. The default is tuned to what you told us about your focus span during onboarding.

What happens if I switch apps mid-session?

The timer keeps running. The ice keeps melting. When you come back, the session resumes exactly where it should be. We don't punish quick app switches — but the goal is staying in the work for the whole session.

Data & privacy

Will I lose my sessions if I switch phones?

Session history is stored locally on your device. If your iCloud is set to back up Ice Study, the data restores when you set up your new phone. If you uninstall the app without an iCloud backup, the sessions are gone.

Can I delete all my data?

Yes. Uninstalling Ice Study removes all session data from your device. If you'd also like us to delete any subscription metadata tied to your anonymous RevenueCat ID, email support@icestudyapp.com and we'll handle it within 30 days. See our privacy policy for what we actually store.

What does Ice Study track about me?

Your sessions stay on your device. The only data that leaves the app is:

  • Your Apple purchase receipt, sent to RevenueCat to verify your subscription.
  • Anonymous attribution events sent to TikTok, but only in the production App Store build and only if you allow tracking when prompted.

Troubleshooting

The ice cube is laggy or not animating smoothly

The ice cube renders 120 frames at full quality. On older devices in Low Power Mode, animation can stutter. Try:

  • Turning Low Power Mode off (Settings → Battery)
  • Closing other apps
  • Restarting your device

If it's still slow, email us with your device model — we'll investigate.

The timer keeps stopping when I lock my phone

The timer is server-less and time-based, not tick-based — so locking your phone doesn't stop it. When you return, the session picks up exactly where it should be based on the start time. If something looks wrong, force-quit and reopen the app; it will reconcile the active session automatically.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Ice Study is iOS-only for now. If you want to be notified when Android lands, drop us a line at support@icestudyapp.com and we'll put you on the list.

Found a bug. How do I report it?

Email support@icestudyapp.com with:

  • A short description of what happened
  • What you expected to happen instead
  • Your device model and iOS version (Settings → General → About)
  • A screenshot or screen recording if you can grab one

We fix the painful bugs first, so the more details the better.
